Tomecek strong in African Eco Race

Yesterday was the second stage of the 2011 Africa Eco Race®. Patrick Sireyjol wins the car category, Elisabete Jacinto wins the truck category and Bruno N’Diaye wins the motorbike’s one for the first time. This stage was globally fast, but it was a necessity to stay concentrated because of some traps. Those who stayed on the good route were the best.
Tomecek finished 2nd and said: “It is only the first few stages of the race, which is still long. I am waiting for the sand and the dunes, where my Tatra will be better. I think that, as of tomorrow, the race will become really interesting…” He proved right and won today’s stage and climbed to the runner-up position in the overall standings.
